Prof. Dillard's research team in the Adhesion Mechanics Laboratory has been heavily involved with analytical, numerical, and experimental studies of adhesive bonds since 1985.   Although some studies are conducted from a classical solid mechanics perspective, much of the work has involved interdisciplinary collaborations with colleagues in Chemistry and other departments.  Fracture mechanics, fatigue, test method development, finite element analysis, viscoelasticity, and durability analysis and predictions have all been topics of interest.  Details on Prof. Dillard's activities may be found on his web site at http://courseware.vt.edu/users/dillard/public/research.html.
