ESM faculty are called upon periodically to provide expert opinions due to their strong external recognition. A recent example is ESM Professor Michael Hyer who is quoted in the current edition of Business Week (June 20, 2005) regarding Boeing's plans to build a plane mostly of polymer composites. ESM houses one of the foremost composite research programs in the world. Professor Hyer is a past President of the American Society for Composites.
