Board of Visitors Approves 2013 Promotions and Tenure

At its June 3 meeting, the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors approved the promotion to associate professor with tenure for Raffaella De Vita, the awarding of tenure to associate professor Marwan Al-Haik, and the promotion of Mike Madigan to professor.

Mahendra Singh receives honorary professorship at Indian Institute of Technology

Mahendra Singh, the Preston Wade Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Tech, has received a two-year, extendable distinguished visiting professorship at the Indian Institute of Technology at Roorkee, India. James Hanna to join ESM in Fall 2013 Semester

Dr. James Hanna will join us this coming fall semester as an assistant professor of engineering science and mechanics. He is currently a postdoctoral research associate, living as an engineer among the physicists of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has earned three degrees from Dartmouth, an A.B. (Engineering Physics, '02), M.S. (Engineering Science, '04) and Ph.D. (Engineering Science '09). (Read more about James Hanna joining ESM) .
