In thermoscopic and hygroscopic materials the role of heat and moisture is triplefold. First, there is the analogy between the Fourier's and Fick's laws describing the diffusion of heat and moisture. This analogy has been extended for convection, too. Second, according to the Soret and Dufour effects there is cross-coupling between the heat and moisture diffusion, i.e. temperature distribution influences the moisture flux and vice versa. This cross-coupling has been extended also for convection and that makes the general case of coupled diffusion and convection of cross-coupled heat and moisture. This leads to the generalized diffusivities and convectivities including the cross-coupled ones. Third, both the heat and moisture cause similar degradation, that may lead to failure. The presentation deals with the basic theory of the Cross-Coupled Heat and Moisture Transfer and with the application of the THM. A general list of engineering application will be given and special detailed discussion according to the interest of the audience. The list contains among others the following:
- solar energy by FRC,
- moisture semi-conductor,
- radivane, the heat radiation indicator,
- electrical bike made of FRC,
- amphora, an artistic application,
- application in automotive industry,
- civil engineering application,
- fire propagation by THM.
