This seminar will:
- discuss the objectives of graduate education and interdisciplinary research in ESM, and
- reintroduce students to the larger graduate community at Virginia Tech and its Honor Code.
- The Graduate Student Assembly is the Pre-eminent Graduate Organization on the VT campus. We have been in operation for about 40 years now and strive to address major areas in the lives of graduate students including but not limited to: scholarly growth, community building and development, assistance with the work/life balance, and addressing any major issues or concerns graduate students have by working with the Virginia Tech shared governance system. The GSA holds 3-5 wine socials annually, is well known for its annual Graduate and Professional School Fair, annual Research Symposium (in March we are celebrating our 26th year), academic and financial programs such as TFP (travel fund program) and GRDP (graduate research and development program), along with multiple community service projects and more! All of our information can be found at our website at www.gsa.uusa.vt.edu or by contacting gsa@vt.edu.
All ESM graduate students are encouraged to attend.
