TPS is one of the leading engineering schools in Tunisia. TPS was founded by virtue of the Act No. 91/42 dated June 26th, 1991 and enrolled its first class in September 1994. TPS has offered a five-year engineering diplomas through a high-quality educational program. TPS graduates are employed by Tunisian and foreign companies and others pursue advanced degrees in European and North American universities.

Building on its proven record in education, Tunisia Polytechnic School launched an International Master of Science Program in Computational Mechanics starting the Fall of 2003 with a duration of 16 months. For the academic year 2006/2007, classes will begin on September 3rd, 2007 and will end on December 13th, 2008. This is the first graduate degree in Engineering to be offered in English in Tunisia. The program of study leading to this degree is set up in collaboration with the Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics (ESM) at Virginia Tech (USA) with financial support from the U.S. State Department. The emphasis of the program is on the application of advanced computational methods and experimental techniques in the areas of solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, dynamics and control, and biomechanics. The coursework will be taught by faculty members from TPS and Virginia Tech in addition to professors from selected European and North American universities. Admission is open to Tunisian as well as International Students on a competitive basis. The cost of study is free of charge except for a modest registration fee paid after admission to the graduate program.
