During the last years, new concepts related with the design of the new generations of highly flexible and supermaneuverable military airplanes, of ultrahigh capacity transport, as well as of hypersonic flight vehicles have been advanced. In spite of their increased structural flexibility and of the severe environmental conditions under which these are likely to operate, these vehicles have to feature an expanded flight envelope, without the occurrence of any structural or aeroelastic failure. This symposium is intended to constitute a forum for presentation of the new advances, achievements and trends in the area.
Papers addressing problems on linear and nonlinear dynamic response and thermo/aeroelasticity of flight vehicles are solicited.
One-page abstracts typed single-spaced on white 8.5-by-11-inch bond paper with 1.25-inch margins on all four sides are due by January 15, 1999. The name and affiliations of authors should follow a brief title.
Selected papers are intended to be published in specialized journals.
